Coningsby 19-07 #1

Today we went to RAF Coningsby.

We were welcomed by Andrew Sell, Flt. Lt of 115(R) Sqn RAF and were accompanied by Beth Lane and partner, volunteer at RAF Witchford Display of Memorabilia.
The tour was guided by a former RAF pilot. During our tour we received an exclusively gift as the fences was opened and we could walk between the aircrafts. It was our chance to got close to Lancaster “Thumper”.
We were told what types of aircrafts were in the hangar of the BBMF and how they were different from the others.

When we drove to Sutton-on-sea, we (unexpected?) passed at East-Kirkby, an extra stop. Off course this was welcome as we could get some extra photographs for our “Control Tower” project.
